EVBUOTUBU PEOPLE SAY UWESE (THANK YOU)
Positive Action For Children Fund (PACF) has indeed made a lot of impact in Evbuotubu community since the commencement of the Improved Community Safe Sex and Prevention of mother- to – child transmission (ICOSSAP). One of such landmark achievement was the Advocacy visit paid to the Local government Chairman of Egor Local government (The local government that the community is located) on the 22nd of April 2014. This advocacy visit was part of the activities outlined in the work-plan for the project. The community representatives were accompanied by delegates from Action From Community Development (The PACF grantee). The needs of the health facility located in the community was on the front burner. The spokesperson for the community Micheal Obasogie tabled the needs of the community before the LGA chairman which include the following:
Pipe born water, Security, 24 service delivery, A signboard for Identification
An Ambulance, Entrance gate
Adequate seats for mothers during immunization.
Funds to do outreaches programme on HIV prevention/Testing
Supplies of consumable of PMTCT Programmes.
The LGA chairman promise to act on the request.
RENOVATION OF EVBOTUBU HEALTH CENTER
True to his words, the LGA chairman visited the community the next day. On the 28th of April 2014 , ACD and The Community Representatives paid a visit to Evbotubu Community Health Center to see what Egor Local Government Council chairman has done . The Chairman has installed pipe borne water , constructed the road leading to the Health Center, renovated the buildings and the old Generator was serviced.
